At the faculty of Natural Science and Mathematics we carry out study programs and enable our students to acquire new knowledge in the fields of biology, ecology, physics and mathematics; also we enable acquiring education for the teaching of biology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science and techniques in elementary and secondary schools.
University study programs of the first level last 3 years and are evaluated with 180 ECTS credits. University study programs of the first degree are Biology, Ecology with Nature Conservation, Physics and Mathematics.
University study programs of the second level last 2 years and are evaluated with 120 ECTS: Biology and Ecology with Nature Conservation, Physics and Mathematics.
Unified master’s study program ‘The subject teacher‘ lasts 5 years and is evaluated with 300 ECTS. In the academic year of 2016/2017, for the first time we called a single program for acquiring education for the teaching of biology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science and technique in elementary and most secondary and higher schools, with which we replace current two-stage pedagogical programs at first and second level of study.
The subject teacher program is replacing the two-level study programs that include Educational Biology, Educational Physics, Educational Chemistry, Educational Mathematics, Educational Computing and Educational Techniques. Those programs could have been entered until the academic year 2015/16 and are in progress now.
To obtain the Master’s degree for teaching in primary, secondary and higher schools students attend two-level pedagogical study programs of the 2nd level: Educational biology, Educational physics, Educational chemistry, Educational mathematics, Educational computing and single-subject Educational mathematics and Educational technical sciences.
Doctoral study programs of the third level last 3 years and are evaluated with 180 ECTS: Ecology, Physics, Mathematics and Technical education.
