V okviru pilotnega projekta Naravoslovno-matematične vsebine za razvoj digitalnih kompetenc bo za visokošolske učitelje, študente in diplomate, kot tudi za vse ostale zainteresirane izvedena v angleškem jeziku delavnica na temo: Active Human ‘Soft Matter: The Critical Insight into ‘Doomsday’ Growth of Global Population.

Vljudno vabljeni na 17. javno delavnico, ki jo bo v torek, 1. 7. 2025 ob 14. uri izvedla dr hab., Prof. Aleksandra Drozd-Rzoska, Institute of High Pressure Physics PAS, Warsaw, Poland.

Delavnica bo potekala na daljavo, v angleškem jeziku.

Povzetek delavnice: Active Human ‘Soft Matter: The Critical Insight into ‘Doomsday’ Growth of Global Population

The Global Population dynamics is considered as a unique case of a Human Active Soft Matter System, from the onset of the Anthropocene (10,000 BCE) until 2024. The innovative ‘bottom-up’ approach, focused on the population data themselves and the distortion-sensitive validation of portrayal via a given scaling relation, is applied.  Two exponential Super-Malthusian dependences are considered: (i) the empowered exponential one, (ii) containing the time-dependent relaxation time. The latter revealed the ‘critically constrained and frustrated’ scaling for Industrial Revolution era, lasting since ~1700. The reference to the famous ‘Doomsday’ prediction, estimated on Friday, 13 Nov. 2026, by von Foerster et al. (Science, 1960), is presented. Further, the meaning of food resources on population dynamics is discussed within the carrying capacity concept and the extended Cohen’s Condorcet equation for population dynamics. It recalls the new discussion of the Verhulst-type model approach. The solution of the emerging food resource crisis in the 5th Industrial Revolutions time via innovative methods for food preservation is discussed.

Delavnica spada v sklop: interdisciplinarno.

Dosežki znotraj te delavnice bodo za udeležence naslednji:

  • Razumevanje populacijskih dinamik skozi fizikalno-matematične modele.
  • Spoznanje koncepta “Active Human Soft Matter”.
  • Kritična refleksija o t. i. ‘Doomsday’ scenarijih.
  • Razumevanje vpliva prehranskih virov in nosilne sposobnosti okolja.
  • Povezava med trajnostjo, prehranskimi tehnologijami in družbo prihodnosti.
  • Interdisciplinarni pogled na aktualne globalne izzive.
