Janez \u0160trancar in Bo\u0161tjan Kokot sta sodelovala pri obse\u017eni mednarodni raziskavi mehanizmov toksi\u010dnosti nanomaterialov in napovedi vnetnih stanj brez uporabe \u017eivali, kar so objavili v ugledni reviji Advanced Materials v \u010dlanku Prediction of Chronic Inflammation for Inhaled Particles: the Impact of Material Cycling and Quarantining in the Lung Epithelium. Slovenski raziskovalci pod koordinatorstvom Laboratorija za biofiziko Instituta Jo\u017eef Stefan so pri tem v okviru projekta SmartNanoTox Horizon 2020 povezovali delo kar 34 avtorjev iz devetih dr\u017eav in kot prvi na svetu uspeli identificirati udele\u017eene molekularne dogodke ter jih povezati v zapleten cikli\u010dni mehanizem, ki pro\u017ei razli\u010dne vrste vnetnih odzivov.
